In response to concerns regarding his future, the MSN has denied claims that it has disregarded Azizulhasni’s contributions or future planning, labeling such allegations as “irresponsible.” The council asserted it remains fully committed to supporting the athlete, stating that discussions regarding the ‘Olympic Pathway’ and his preparation for LA28 have been ongoing through meetings with senior officials and the PKBM.

Following a period of uncertainty, Azizulhasni has formally agreed to continue his training and competition for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics. This follows official approval from the MSN board on August 13 and the subsequent issuance of an offer letter. Youth and Sports Minister Dr Mohammed Taufiq Johari acknowledged a “communication breakdown” between the Ministry, the MSN, and the athlete, taking responsibility for the gaps. Moving forward, officials will hold detailed discussions with the athlete, the national cycling association, MSN, and the National Sports Institute to finalize technical and logistical support for his preparations.
