Prime Minister John Briceño has initiated several domestic and regional diplomatic efforts. The leaders also discussed improving the movement of goods and people between Central America and the Caribbean while maintaining Belize’s unique Caribbean identity.

As Belize holds the Pro Tempore Presidency of the Central American Integration System (SICA) for the second half of 2026, the leaders addressed regional priorities including climate change and improved connectivity. This includes implementing ‘open skies’ policies and modernizing airports through initiatives like Belize’s involvement with the Central American Air Navigation Services Corporation (Cocesna).
