Overview
The 16th edition of the Bucharest International Air Show & General Aviation Exhibition (BIAS 2026) is being held on August 28 and 29 at the Bucharest Băneasa - Aurel Vlaicu International Airport and ROMAERO. Dedicated to Romanian aviation pioneer Traian Vuia, the event marks 120 years since the inventor’s first self-propelled flight and features over 200 military and civilian participants.
The flight programme includes aerobatic demonstrations by the Italian Air Force’s Frecce Tricolori, the Turkish Stars, the Polish Flying Dragons Team, and the French Air and Space Force’s Rafale Solo Display. The Spanish Air and Space Force is showcasing an F/A-18 Hornet, and the German Air Force is also participating. The Romanian Air Force will contribute F-16 Fighting Falcons and various transport aircraft.
On Friday, August 28, the event includes official training sessions, training flights, and an emergency intervention simulation. Public access to the static aircraft exhibition is available in the afternoon. The main show on Saturday, August 29, focuses on international aerobatic formations, tactical exercises, and military aircraft. Commercial airlines, including TAROM, Wizz Air, Animawings, and HiSky, are represented. Wizz Air is hosting activities at Hangar 5, including a career discussion and a low-altitude flight with an Airbus A321neo. The event concludes with a drone and fireworks display and a concert. Public access to the air show is free.
