By mid‑July, the cast was expanded: actor Connor Storrie was added, and Carey Mulligan was announced as Greenwood’s mother. Focus Features’ involvement was reiterated, and Ella Beatty entered the final stage of negotiations to join the project alongside Eilish and Mulligan.

On 23 July, Eilish was photographed on the Toronto set in a yellow patterned dress over a green fleece and black boots, confirming that shooting was underway. Further on‑set images from early August showed Eilish in 1950s‑inspired period costumes—a bright red knit top, a full‑skirted checkered dress and teal accents—highlighting her transition from music to acting.

No official release date has been set, and the film remains in production with Polley serving as director and screenwriter, and Plan B, Studiocanal and Joy Coalition listed as partners.
