Bose QuietComfort headphone rollout
Overview
Following the late July 2026 introduction of the Moonlight Grey QuietComfort headphones in Poland, Bose officially announced the second-generation QuietComfort headphones on 5 August. This new model serves as an entry-level option featuring TrueSpatial immersive audio technology with three modes: Still, Motion, and Cinema.
Technical specifications include an improved adaptive feed-forward ANC system, a six-microphone array to assist users wearing glasses or hats, and enhanced ActiveSense response for sudden noise spikes. The headphones support lossless USB-C playback up to 24-bit/48 kHz. Design updates feature oval ear cups, a sliding headband, and synthetic-leather padding. Battery life is rated at 24 hours, reducing to 18 hours with immersive audio enabled, with a 15-minute quick-charge providing 2.5 hours of use. Six colors are available, including standard Black and White Smoke, and limited editions in Eucalyptus Green, Dewdrop Mint, Rosewood Mauve, and Hazelnut Taupe.
Pre-orders opened on 8 August. While some reports cited a price of €349.95 (≈ $359), other pricing indicated a release price of $549.95. The headphones were released on 13 August, positioned as a more affordable alternative to the premium QuietComfort Ultra model. Unlike the Ultra, which utilizes ‘CustomTune’ acoustic calibration and Snapdragon Sound for high-bitrate streaming, the standard second-generation model relies on traditional AAC and SBC codecs.
