Brazil ETF market growth

Entities: XP Asset · Brazil · Boring Money · Trading 212 · United Kingdom

Overview

Global ETF assets reached roughly $19.5 trillion by mid‑July 2026, with institutional demand driving a 15 % average annual increase. In Brazil the sector continued its rapid expansion. Total ETF assets rose from R$55.5 bn in July 2025 to R$116.6 bn in June 2026, and listed funds grew to about 202 with 1.65 million investor accounts.

A July 2026 snapshot showed listed ETFs up 70 % since January 2025, the count climbing to about 343 and AUM increasing from R$54 bn to R$91 bn. Fixed‑income ETFs surged three‑fold to roughly R$59 bn, now accounting for more than 60 % of recent AUM growth. XP Asset, Brazil’s largest ETF manager, offers 22 fixed‑income ETFs and plans to launch two or three more, while XP Asset’s CEO Leandro Bousquet highlighted that the investor experience still lags behind the market’s potential.

BlackRock Brazil’s CEO Bruno Barino reinforced the view that ETFs have become a preferred, efficient allocation tool for wealth‑management portfolios, especially under fee‑based remuneration models.

By late July 2026 total Brazilian ETF assets reached R$120 bn, with individual investors rising 35 % to about 823 000. These investors now hold roughly R$31 bn, over a quarter of sector assets, yet ETFs still represent only about 1 % of Brazil’s overall fund industry, indicating substantial room for further growth. The market is also diversifying into income‑focused and tax‑advantaged products, including covered‑call strategies and thematic funds covering technology, AI, infrastructure, crypto‑assets and commodities.
