In a high-level review meeting, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay ordered state departments to complete all pending precautionary works. Beyond urban flooding measures like canal desilting and water hyacinth removal, the Chief Minister instructed the electricity department to replace hazardous power cables and reinforce weak poles. A joint framework involving the police, fire services, and health departments has been established to coordinate relief operations, which include pre-positioning dewatering pumps, rescue boats, and heavy machinery, while preparing schools and community halls as relief centers.
