Croatia road construction contracts

Overview

In July 2026 Croatia advanced both local and national road upgrades. On 23 July, Konavle municipality and Dubrovnik‑Neretva County approved three contracts worth about €2.3 million for short municipal and county road repairs, improving access for residents and schoolchildren.

A week later, on 31 July, Hrvatske autoceste (HAC) signed a €252 million contract with a consortium led by Kolektor CPG to build the 12.3‑km Jadranovo‑Selce segment of the A7 highway, part of the European route E65. The agreement, signed in Crikvenica and witnessed by HAC president Boris Huzjan, Deputy Prime Minister Oleg Butković and regional officials, sets a 42‑month deadline and includes eight tunnels, eleven viaducts, bridges and ancillary works. Funding comes entirely from HAC, without EU support. Construction is slated to start in autumn, extending the A7 corridor from Križišće toward Žuta Lokva and aiming to relieve coastal traffic, boost tourism and stimulate economic development in the Primorje‑Gorski Kotar region. The project will involve 200‑300 engineers and is described as one of the most technically demanding sections of the route.
