Although the River Supervision Directorate noted that no new vessels had run aground as of that date, strict navigation restrictions remained in effect across the entire Bulgarian stretch.

By September 16, the situation worsened as water levels in Ruse reached -127 cm, matching the record low previously observed in late August. While minor increases of 1 cm were noted in areas like Novo Selo and Nikopol, the overall trend remained downward. Navigation difficulties persisted, highlighted by a self-propelled vessel running aground near Corabia, opposite the Bulgarian village of Gigen; authorities stated the incident occurred outside the fairway and did not obstruct traffic.

By September 20, the recession caused significant disruptions to shipping and local fishing. In Koshava, near Vidin, water has receded so far that boats are situated approximately 200 meters from the shoreline. Local residents noted that previously submerged areas have become dry land, with willow vegetation beginning to grow on emerging islands. Although some hydrometric stations recorded slight increases, such as a 20-centimeter rise near Vidin over two days, overall values across the Bulgarian river basin remain negative, with previous readings showing levels as low as minus 75 centimeters at Novo Selo and minus 28 centimeters at Lom.
