Death of Polish television participant Adrian Szymaniak

Overview

Adrian Szymaniak, a participant from the third season of the Polish television program ‘Ślub od pierwszego wejrzenia’ (Married at First Sight), died on September 5, 2026, at the age of 39. He had been battling stage IV glioblastoma multiforme, an aggressive form of brain cancer, since July 2025. His medical treatment included surgery, chemotherapy, radiotherapy, and TTFields therapy.

Following his death, Anita faced public scrutiny and criticism from social media users and Adrian’s mother, the latter of whom publicly shared private family matters. Journalist Agnieszka Hyży has spoken in support of Anita, calling for empathy and criticizing the media's handling of the situation, noting that Anita had already shared what she wished to say while navigating a difficult period.
