Delta Air Lines service and cabin upgrades
Overview
Delta Air Lines is expanding its service offerings through technological and cabin upgrades. Following regulatory approval, the airline has launched its complimentary high-speed Delta Sync Wi-Fi service across all Pacific routes, including those between Japan and the United States. Provided by T-Mobile, this expansion makes Delta the only global airline to offer free Wi-Fi across all cabin classes on all international flights spanning six continents. The service is available to SkyMiles members for messaging, web browsing, and streaming. To support this, Delta has begun operating new satellite communications over the Americas to increase capacity, aiming to equip its entire fleet with Wi-Fi by early 2027.
As part of a broader premium strategy supported by over one billion dollars in fleet investments, the airline is launching a major redesign of its Delta One business-class experience. This initiative, described as its most significant premium overhaul in nearly 30 years, features redesigned suite architecture with full-height sliding privacy doors, improved ergonomics, and 21-inch 4K displays. These configurations will be featured on new Airbus A350 aircraft and retrofitted A330s.
The updated service includes a revamped culinary program featuring items such as Wagyu beef and seasonal risotto, alongside enhanced wellness amenities through partnerships with luxury brands like Missoni. Rollout of the Delta One updates is scheduled to begin in autumn 2026 on transoceanic and intercontinental flights departing from Los Angeles International Airport, with a global expansion planned through 2027. Additionally, Delta is accelerating the development of private lounges at major hubs, including Los Angeles, Boston, and Seattle, and expanding its partnership with Porsche to increase its fleet of hybrid vehicles to 70 by 2028.
