Both investments aim to expand capacity, create jobs and help meet the government’s target of 30 million international visitors annually by 2030. A week later, Egyptian Ambassador Bassam Essam Rady highlighted the deepening Italy‑Egypt partnership, noting bilateral trade of about €6 billion, more than 150 Italian firms operating in Egypt, and a proposed Trieste‑Damietta maritime corridor. He stressed Italy’s role as Egypt’s main gateway to the EU and cited the new administrative capital as a fresh venue for Italian investment. In mid‑July, Rady reiterated these points, emphasizing the strategic Mediterranean positioning of both nations and the broader cooperation across economic, cultural, transport and security domains. Later in July, tourism officials led by Hossam Al‑Schaer urged a more ambitious visitor goal of up to 50 million annually.
