Hela: Of Mice & Magic game release

Overview

In July 2026, Knights Peak and Windup Games announced that the cooperative adventure game ‘Hela: Of Mice & Magic’ is scheduled for a fourth-quarter 2026 launch. The title, which features a Scandinavia-inspired open world, was slated for release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC. By August 2026, Knights Peak and Microids announced a ‘Harmony Edition’ collector’s edition for the game, also arriving in the fourth quarter of 2026. This edition will be available through selected retailers in the United States and Europe. For PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X, the edition includes physical media, a digital soundtrack composed by Frida Johansson and Henrik Oja, a 48-page art book, an exclusive slipcase, a reversible map poster, and stickers. While the Harmony Edition will offer physical versions for Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series X, and PlayStation 5, the game will be released digitally for Xbox Series S and PC. In September 2026, developers confirmed a specific release date of December 1, 2026. The game, where players control an agile mouse assisting a witch to protect her lands, will be available digitally across all planned platforms. Physical copies will remain exclusive to the ‘Harmony Edition’ for Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X. New details regarding gameplay mechanics indicate that players must gather ingredients and concoct potions to restore harmony to the land. The title features a ‘Shade System,’ described as a magical echo used to assist with puzzles and environmental interactions. The game will support both online cooperative play and local split-screen modes, with PC players able to access the title via Steam and the Epic Games Store. On September 27, 2026, further details revealed that players can utilize a ‘magic frog backpack’ for movement, including grappling and gliding.
