Regarding regional governance, Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni marked the 80th anniversary of the De Gasperi-Gruber Agreement, citing it as a model for linguistic coexistence. She noted that recent reforms to the special statute have secured the competencies of the autonomous provinces of Trento and Bolzano to balance regional autonomy with national cohesion.

In a separate address in Rome, Mattarella urged the nation to overcome “invisible obstacles” such as prejudice and ignorance to foster greater social inclusion.
