Kuantan Singingi regional governance and welfare

The Kuantan Singingi Regency government has focused on administrative improvements and social welfare initiatives. Following the 2025 Regional Government Implementation Evaluation (EPPD), local officials emphasized using the results to enhance public service quality and administrative performance. Acting Regional Secretary Muradi directed departments to adopt a “jemput bola” (proactive/outreach) work pattern to meet development targets.

Subsequent efforts have expanded into economic and social stability measures. The administration launched subsidized food stalls, such as the “Gerai Pangan Murah” in the Astaka Taman Jalur area, to control commodity prices and maintain community purchasing power. To bolster social security, the government allocated Rp1.7 billion from the regional budget and palm oil revenue sharing to expand BPJS Ketenagakerjaan coverage for approximately 10,000 vulnerable workers, including laborers and motorcycle taxi drivers.

Regional development has also shifted toward infrastructure and environmental safety. During the 2026 National Transportation Day, officials highlighted the need for improved connectivity to support agriculture, trade, and tourism. To mitigate environmental risks, the government has strengthened cooperation with the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) to prevent forest and land fires through specialized counseling and monitoring teams. Concurrently, the District Attorney’s Office continues to provide oversight and legal assistance for the construction of the former MTQ Pavilion multipurpose building to ensure administrative and regulatory compliance.
