Kukri joins Paysandu on loan from Águia de Marabá

Overview

The loan agreement between football clubs Coritiba and Águia de Marabá regarding midfielder Kukri has concluded following a period of uncertainty. Initially, the 19-year-old indigenous player failed to report to Coritiba after a scheduled break, prompting official notifications and a visit by Águia de Marabá officials to the Krijõhêkatêjê village to investigate his whereabouts.

Following these difficulties with adaptation and missed presentations, the loan agreement was terminated. While the original contract included an option for Coritiba to acquire 70% of the player’s economic rights for approximately R$ 1 million, that provision is no longer in effect. Negotiations for a new loan move to Paysandu have since been finalized. Paysandu announced the signing of Krowakreti Viviane Kajipok, known as Kukri, on loan from Águia de Marabá. The contract runs until August 2027 and includes an option for a permanent purchase.

Kukri, who hails from the Krijohere indigenous community of the Gavião people, will initially integrate into Paysandu’s under-20 squad to facilitate his development, though he remains available for the professional team. The club intends to monitor his progress through a multidisciplinary approach to prepare him for professional opportunities, potentially starting in the 2027 Campeonato Paraense.
