Marmaris Seafood Festival concludes in Selimiye

Overview

The second Marmaris Seafood Festival, held from October 2 to 4, 2026, has concluded in Selimiye. Organized by the Marmaris Municipality with support from local businesses and residents, the three-day event aimed to showcase the gastronomic heritage of the Aegean and Mediterranean regions.

The festival featured an international culinary program with live demonstrations from chefs representing Turkey, Rhodes, Germany, and Croatia. Notable participants included Ramazan Narman, Rhodes-based chefs Giorgos Stergakis and Giannis Kountouris, former German Chefs Federation President Thomas Gugler, and Croatian Prof. Chef Dr. Dragica Dada Marcic.

Activities were distributed across Selimiye and the rural neighborhood of Taşlıca. In Selimiye, culinary workshops were paired with musical performances by the Muğla Metropolitan Municipality City Orchestra, folk dance groups, yoga, and SUP board demonstrations. In Taşlıca, a Local Market Day highlighted regional products such as keşkek, karakılçık wheat bread, olives, honey, and handmade donkey milk soap.

Beyond gastronomy, the event included a social initiative titled ‘adopt, don’t buy’, which facilitated the adoption of dogs from the Marmaris Animal Care and Rehabilitation Center.
