New streaming hardware releases from Logitech and Razer

Overview

Logitech G has announced the Yeti 2, the first major successor to the Blue Yeti USB microphone in 17 years. The new model features a 24-bit/48kHz recording array and a three-dimensional voice proximity sensor that automatically adjusts audio gain, equalization, and pickup patterns in real time based on the speaker's movement. This sensor tracks a user's position within a two-meter radius, adjusting settings 48,000 times per second to maintain consistent audio levels.

Technical specifications include onboard AI-powered noise reduction, a 1.3-inch to 1.5-inch color LED display for monitoring settings, and a haptic dial for adjustments. The display features an animated Yeti character that changes facial expressions to indicate audio states, such as being muted or clipping. The device connects via USB-C and includes a 3.5mm monitoring port. It is available in black and white finishes with a suggested price of approximately $159.99, or roughly 170 Euro in Germany. The microphone also utilizes a three-capsule condenser system supporting multiple polar patterns, including stereo, cardioid, and omnidirectional modes, and integrates Blue VO!CE digital signal processing and a 10-band EQ.

In a broader context of streaming hardware updates, Razer has launched the Kiyo V2 Pro webcam. This professional-grade device utilizes an 8.3-megapixel Sony STARVIS 2 back-illuminated sensor to enable 4K resolution at 60 fps or 1080p at 60 fps. The webcam features Ultra-High Dynamic Range (UHDR) technology, an 86-degree to 93-degree wide-angle lens to minimize edge distortion, and intelligent auto-framing with dynamic pan, tilt, and zoom capabilities.

Additional features include a physical privacy shutter, a universal pivot mount for monitors or tripods, and a partnership with Camo Studio to provide a Camo Pro subscription. The device also includes a ‘One-Click Image Enhancement’ function for automatic exposure, white balance, and noise reduction, with further customization available through Razer Synapse software.
