DR Automobiles expands PK8 pickup rollout in Europe

In early June 2026 Chinese‑made Zeekr introduced its 001 premium electric shooting‑brake, and Swedish‑engineered Volvo unveiled the EX60 electric SUV during a road‑tour in Bari, both targeting the high‑end market with advanced driver‑assist systems and prices above €60,000. Later that month Italian automaker DR Automobiles expanded the compact‑SUV segment with the DR 5 and DR 6. The DR 5 is powered by a 1.4 L turbo‑charged gasoline engine (158 hp) while the DR 6 offers a 1.5 L turbo unit (180 hp, 178 hp in the LPG variant). Both models feature a seven‑speed dual‑clutch gearbox, level‑2 driver assistance, 12.3‑inch infotainment screens, LED lighting, panoramic roofs, leather upholstery and wireless charging. Prices start at €25,900 for the DR 5 gasoline version, €27,900 for the DR 5 bifuel, and €30,900 for the DR 6, with a promotional €26,900 price for the DR 6 announced in June. On 13 July 2026 DR Automobiles launched the DR PK8 pickup in Europe, a rebadged JAC T8 Pro built on a dedicated JAC platform and assembled partly in Italy’s Macchia d’Isernia plant. The 2.0‑litre turbo‑diesel engine delivers 136 hp and 320 Nm, mated to a six‑speed manual gearbox. With a payload of 830 kg, towing capacity of 3,500 kg and a 1,097‑litre cargo box, the PK8 targets professional users as a low‑cost alternative to the Ford Ranger and Toyota Hilux. It is priced at €26,900 (excluding VAT) and includes 18‑inch alloy wheels, a 10.25‑inch multimedia screen, 360° camera and a sunroof. In August 2026 DR Automobiles began selling the PK8 in Spain, positioning it for agricultural, construction, livestock and forestry professionals. The model retains the 2.0‑litre turbo‑diesel, 830 kg payload and 3,500 kg tow capacity, with 220 mm ground clearance and selectable 2H/4H/4L drive modes.
