Authorities emphasized that many drivers merely slowed down rather than stopping, which is critical due to limited visibility caused by embankments or vegetation.

To maintain pressure, police have launched unannounced, cyclical nationwide checks, utilizing drones and cameras to monitor driver behavior. Officers are targeting failures to stop at signs and entering crossings while barriers are lowered. Violations involving lowered barriers can result in fines of up to 2,000 PLN, or 4,000 PLN for repeat offenders, alongside 15 penalty points.
