Professional development initiatives in Poland

Overview

Educational institutions and regional organizations in Poland continue to implement professional development and vocational training initiatives, frequently supported by European funding. In late 2025, the ‘Vocational Competence Center in the Kraków Municipality’ project completed 595 internships for students from 16 vocational schools, with the project scheduled to continue through June 2029.

New funding and advisory programs have emerged to support SMEs and higher education. The Polish Agency for Enterprise Development (PARP) launched ‘Horizon Bridge,’ a 5 million PLN pilot program providing up to 66,000 PLN to help SMEs prepare Horizon Europe applications. Additionally, over 15 million PLN has been allocated to Polish universities to assist in obtaining international accreditations. The 4EU+ Alliance is also accepting applications for ‘Blended Intensive Programmes’ through November 30.

Vocational training continues through various regional and sector-specific projects. Fundusz Górnośląski SA opened recruitment for SME employee competency development through October 2, 2026. In the energy sector, the ‘Energia do Nauki – Nauka dla Energii’ program provides students with practical knowledge of modern energy systems. In the technology sector, dmTech is expanding its ‘University Tech Talents’ program to connect students with professional IT work.

Student mobility remains a key component, with Erasmus+ funded projects facilitating internships in Spain and industry visits in the gastronomy and hospitality sectors. Updated EU Funds (2021–2027) guidelines, effective October 15, 2026, emphasize equality, accessibility, and non-discrimination.
