Pump.fun DEX growth, buybacks and token rally

Entities: Bitvavo · Solana blockchain · Dutch cryptocurrency market · PUMP token · Pump.fun platform

Overview

In early July 2026 Pump.fun’s Solana‑based DEX, PumpSwap, recorded $1.77 billion of 24‑hour volume, overtaking major rivals and generating roughly $1.13 million in daily fees. Revenue hit $1 billion overall, with annualised earnings projected at $344 million and buy‑backs peaking at $407 million, burning 149 billion PUMP tokens (≈15 % of supply).

By mid‑July the protocol disclosed a sharp cut in buy‑back funding to about 50 % of net fees, with the latest month seeing an $9.2 million spend, an 80 % drop from the peak. A large unlock of 825 billion tokens (≈8 % of supply) raised concerns about price pressure, though fee revenue remained strong.

On 23 July the PUMP token broke out of an inverse head‑and‑shoulders pattern, trading near $0.00194, up 1.5 % in 24 hours, and analysts set a short‑term target of $0.0034. The platform also launched a “BOOST Mode” for new coin launches, aiming to preserve liquidity that had previously cost the network over $100 million annually.

A week later, on 27 July, the token rallied 64 % since the end of June, reaching $0.00214 on the Dutch exchange Bitvavo with a daily gain of nearly 19 % and €3.4 million of volume. Contrary to expectations, the recent unlock was largely absorbed by spot‑market buyers, pushing price toward the $0.0020 resistance. Technical indicators signal short‑term bullish momentum, while declining derivatives open‑interest suggests reduced leveraged speculation. The continued price strength underscores market confidence despite the enlarged circulating supply.
