RayNeo AI and AR smart glasses product launches
Overview
RayNeo has expanded its hardware lineup with the launch of the iO series, positioned as “human augmentation AI glasses” intended to transition smart eyewear into daily-wearable devices. The iO series focuses on three AI dimensions: knowledge, expression, and memory, assisting users with information comprehension, communication, and detail retrieval. Following its announcement, the RayNeo iO smart glasses were released on August 21. The device features a retro design with a classic crown frame and slim titanium temples, utilizing self-developed optical waveguide technology to make the display appear nearly invisible. Weighing approximately 34 grams, the iO is designed for all-day comfort and prioritizes privacy by omitting a camera and speakers. To address security, the glasses use a hardware indicator light for audio recording, perform local data desensitization, and employ AES-256 encryption. Since its release, the RayNeo iO has reportedly become a sales leader on major Chinese e-commerce platforms, including JD.com, Tmall, and Douyin, breaking 2026 sales records for new smart eyewear. The device supports various large language models, such as Gemini and ChatGPT, and provides features including real-time translation for 55 languages, AI transcription, and message notifications. On September 4, 2026, RayVision AR Limited expanded its presence into Japan with the launch of several new models. This includes the RayNeo iO, which features a monochrome green MicroLED display, a ‘Smart Crown’ for manual operation, and support for transcription and AI summarization in up to 112 languages. The company also introduced the flagship RayNeo GT Max, a 78g device featuring dual-layer Micro-OLED displays, a 59-degree field of view, and four speakers by Bang & Olufsen, designed for high-quality video consumption. The GT Max utilizes the Peacock Optical Engine 3.0 Max and is priced at 62,980 yen in Japan.
