Norlys energy director Ellen Trolle noted that a lack of wind and solar energy has increased reliance on gas-fired power plants, a dependency exacerbated by high natural gas prices linked to the situation near the Strait of Hormuz. Average electricity prices for early September have trended higher than in August, which was already the most expensive month since December 2022.
