Newer findings published in npj Aging, led by computational biologist Dmitrii Kriukov, suggest that random DNA mutations may impose a biological ceiling even in a hypothetical world free of age-related diseases. This research highlights that different organs age at different rates; while the skin and liver can regenerate, the brain and heart are significantly less capable of replacing damaged cells. To address these complexities, collaborations such as those between Insilico Medicine and Human Longevity are developing AI foundation models to analyze genomic, proteomic, and metabolomic data, aiming to move medicine toward proactive intervention based on individual biological trajectories.
