Syrian regime war crimes trials continue

Overview

After the Fourth Criminal Court in Damascus opened the second sessions of Wasim al‑Assad’s war‑crimes trial on 15 July, public witnesses testified and the court examined documentary, photographic and video evidence linking the former militia commander to attacks on civilian areas in Eastern Ghouta (including al‑Malha), a killing in Jaramana, massacres, drug‑trafficking and extortion.
