To address this loss, a four-member group including Stalin, Udhayanidhi Stalin, and Kanimozhi has begun reorganizing district leadership. Stalin has announced plans to expand the number of party districts from approximately 77 to 110 to improve micromanagement. Under this plan, Chennai will increase from six to 10 districts, with the Sholinganallur Assembly constituency designated as a separate district. Most revenue districts will see increases, excluding Kancheepuram, Perambalur, and Ariyalur.

The party faces internal instability and criticism. Law and Electricity Minister C. T. R. Nirmal Kumar has publicly called for the resignations of M. K. Stalin and Udhayanidhi Stalin, attributing the electoral loss to ‘family politics’ and ‘dynasty-style leadership.’ He suggested the party must move away from generational rule to restore its respectability and public trust.
