In Cienfuegos, aid arrived via Santa Clara to support the Lajas municipality, providing food kits—including rice, beans, oil, sugar, and canned fish—alongside hygiene products, water purification tablets, and rechargeable lamps.

In Matanzas, two separate shipments have arrived at Varadero’s Juan Gualberto Gómez International Airport. Managed by Cáritas Cuba and local parish volunteers, these deliveries target 700 families in communities like Unión de Reyes, Bolondrón, and Güira de Macurijes, with a long-term goal of reaching 18,200 households in the diocese. Previous deliveries have also been recorded in Havana, Villa Clara, Camagüey, and Ciego de Ávila.

The program prioritizes elderly individuals, pregnant or nursing women, people with disabilities, and children under five. While U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Mike Hammer coordinate implementation, Cuban Vice Foreign Minister Carlos Fernández de Cossío has accused Washington of using the situation to conduct a media campaign to justify potential military aggression.
