The bankruptcy also threatens several major brands; for instance, French manufacturer Cycles Lapierre filed for bankruptcy on August 5, 2026, and is seeking a buyer. Other French brands, such as Solex, Gitane, and Peugeot Cycles, are also facing difficulties. As of late September 2026, sixty parties have expressed interest in restarting the bankrupt manufacturer. Curators have received bids for individual brands as well as proposals to acquire groups of brands, including Batavus, Sparta, Babboe, and Raleigh.
