Amazon Bedrock AgentCore enhancements

Overview

Amazon Bedrock has steadily expanded its AgentCore platform. In late May 2026 the service added quota‑visibility for the mantle endpoint across all regions and released an open‑source CLI tutorial for building and deploying agents. Early June brought a redesigned console with a searchable model catalog, project‑based workspaces and auto‑filled SDK snippets for OpenAI‑ and Anthropic‑compatible APIs. The same week an interactive PTY‑backed shell was introduced via the InvokeAgentRuntimeCommandShell API, giving developers a persistent WebSocket terminal for debugging agents without SSH.

June 18 saw the Web Search connector become generally available, letting agents query a continuously refreshed billions‑document index while keeping data private within AWS. On June 22 the Managed Knowledge Base and continuous‑learning governance tools were GA in US‑West, complemented by the Grok 4.3 model, Continuum security services and a new local zone in Hanoi.

July highlighted BNB Chain’s AI‑Agent Studio on Bedrock, enabling on‑chain autonomous agents that bill only for compute, and Rubrik’s integration that adds a governance layer with policy, inventory and rollback capabilities.

In August 2026 AWS launched “runtime instances,” a managed EC2‑based option for persistent agent compute (up to 14 days, GPU‑accelerated) alongside short‑lived microVM runtimes, and extended memory, policy and GovCloud support. These additions broaden the scalability, durability and enterprise control of Bedrock‑based AI agents.
