To support these trends, the country has expanded childcare infrastructure. Significant investments have increased capacities in Podcrkavlje’s Bambi kindergarten, the new Dunja kindergarten in Gunja, and the Dubrava kindergarten. In Zagreb, new facilities such as the Borovje school, which includes an indoor pool, are opening to meet demand.

In September 2026, the government announced a new pilot program to further support demographic renewal, particularly in rural areas. This initiative, implemented with the ‘Croatia for Children’ Foundation, will provide subsidies of up to 15,000 euros for families with four or more children to purchase vehicles with seven or more seats. Minister Šipić noted that parental support has reached nearly one billion euros, encompassing measures such as increased parental leave compensation, doubled newborn support, and extended paid paternity leave.
