Netherlands municipal public‑facility upgrades

Overview

Early June 2026 Dutch municipalities approved upgrades to public facilities. From late July, CODA Central Library in Apeldoorn will stay open later on Friday evenings (until 20:30) and Groningen’s branches will broaden hours from 17 August, both adding free physical‑library membership for residents up to age 27.

In early August, Gouda’s De Goudse Hofsteden farm launched paid children’s activities (animal care, crafts, treasure hunts) during the summer holidays, while Bibliotheek Amstelland resumed its Maakplaats Club workshops in Aalsmeer, Amstelveen and Kudelstaart, offering programming, robotics and creative‑tech sessions for youths.
