Beyond wages, the union is seeking to secure real wages and is demanding company concessions, such as guaranteed investments and job security, to counter concerns regarding deindustrialization and unfair competition. Benner has called for anti-dumping strategies and local-content requirements to protect jobs, while also stating the union is prepared to defend the 35-hour work week against potential corporate challenges.
