He also called for increased cooperation between national security agencies and international partners.

In a parallel reorganization, President Mahama approved structural changes to the National Security Council Secretariat (NSCS) to improve intelligence coordination. Key appointments include retired Major General William Ayamdo as Deputy National Security Coordinator (Operations), Yaw Donkor as Director of Intelligence and Research, Adamu Saaka as Director of Logistics and Transport, Faustina Effah-Boadi as Officer in Charge of the Human Security Department, and retired DCOP Peter Ndekugri as Officer in Charge of the Special Investigations Unit.
