Greece and North Macedonia border crossing disruptions
Overview
By early September, traffic conditions in North Macedonia continued to show increased intensity on roads outside urban areas. While most border crossings reported no significant delays for entry or exit, the Bogorodica crossing experienced waiting times of approximately 45 minutes for vehicles exiting the country.
The Automotive Association of Macedonia (AMSM) issued warnings regarding potential landslides in mountainous areas, river valleys, and canyons. Specific caution was advised on the Katlanovo – Veles, Mavrovo – Debar – Struga, Vinica – Berovo, and Kočani – Delčevo routes.
Ongoing roadwork and bridge repairs continued to affect the national road network, including the A2 Gostivar–Straža segment and the A4 Miladinovci–Sveti Nikole–Štip route near the Preod toll station.
