Havan megastore expansion in Brazil

Overview

In early July 2026, founder Luciano Hang inspected the R$ 100 million, 10,000 m² megastore under construction in Tramandaí, Rio Grande do Sul. The store, slated to open on 15 August (now confirmed for 15 August 2026), will house more than 350,000 items, a food court, free parking and a replica Statue of Liberty façade, creating about 200 direct jobs. It will be Havan’s 23rd megastore in the state and the second on the northern coast, with further sites planned for Osório and Torres.

A week later, Havan announced its largest Brazilian outlet on a 28‑hectare site in Vila Velha, Espírito Santo. The R$ 120 million, 20,000 m² store, also projected to generate roughly 200 jobs, is scheduled to open in October and was visited by state governor Ricardo Ferraço and Hang.

By early August, the Tramandaí store opened on schedule, marking Havan’s 195th location and confirming the retailer’s 2026 national expansion agenda across southern and southeastern Brazil.

In the same month, Havan became the top advertiser on Globo’s regional affiliates in the first half of 2026, logging 2,132 ad insertions aimed at Brazil’s lower‑income consumers. Hang criticised national Globo journalism while endorsing regional coverage.

The company also highlighted a solar‑energy project launched in September 2024 at its Palmas megastore in Tocantins. The installation of 1,088 photovoltaic panels (598.4 kWp) is expected to generate about 866,000 kWh annually, allowing the store to operate on a grid‑zero basis and reducing reliance on the public electricity network.
