Junior Eurovision 2026: Armenia wins, Spain second

Overview

The 24th Junior Eurovision Song Contest concluded on October 24, 2026, at the Malta Fairs & Conventions Centre in Ta’ Qali, with Armenia claiming victory. Naré Kerobyan secured the win for Armenia with 202 points following a performance of the song ‘Boo!’. This marked Armenia’s third victory in the competition’s history, following previous wins in 2010 and 2021. While Armenia climbed from third place in the professional jury rankings to the top spot due to a strong performance in the public vote, the scoring system was split equally between professional national juries and online public voting. Specifically, Naré earned 103 points from the jury and 99 from the online public vote. Spain finished in second place with 184 points. Represented by ten-year-old Lucas Paulano, he performed the ballad ‘Cuore bello (te quiero, te quiero)’ as the final act of the evening. His staging included a Ferris wheel and a circular structure containing over 500 lightbulbs intended to “evoke childhood memories”. Paulano, a native of Jaén and former winner of La Voz Kids, earned 108 points from juries—including the maximum 12 points from host nation Malta—and 76 points from the public vote. His result matches Spain’s previous best achievement by Sandra Valero in 2023. France completed the podium in third place with 165 points. Although France led the professional jury rankings, a lower score from the public vote moved them down the final podium. The competition featured 16 participating countries under the theme ‘The Festa’. To increase international viewership, the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) moved the broadcast to a 21:00 CEST prime-time slot. Poland’s Wiktor Sas finished in sixth place with 144 points. Sas, a previous winner of ‘The Voice Kids’, received praise from fans and Polish First Lady Marta Nawrocka for his performance of ‘Gravity’.
