Showrunner Oren Uziel had previously suggested that a second season could have transitioned the timeline toward the Second World War or explored new settings in Los Angeles or Europe. Uziel noted that the first season was designed as a ‘closed-ended’ story, though he expressed interest in potentially continuing the character through other production avenues. Lead actor Nicolas Cage has responded to the news by stating that he considers a single season to be “perfect.” Cage noted that he achieved his goal of presenting a “dangerous, innovative, pop-art Spider-Man” and expressed satisfaction with the completed narrative arc. The cancellation follows the previous end of the ‘Silk: Spider-Society’ project, marking a setback for the partnership between Amazon MGM Studios and Sony Pictures Television. However, the collaboration remains active. Following the ‘Spider-Noir’ cancellation, Sony Pictures Television and Amazon Prime Video are reportedly considering up to four new live-action Spider-Man TV spin-offs.
