Regional literary and cultural promotions
Overview
Various literary and cultural events have been held across the region to promote the works of local authors.
In Serbia and Montenegro, events included a literary evening in Šid dedicated to Silvija Stojilković’s novel ‘Ono nešto među nama’, which explored themes of tradition and youth. In Gusinje, the Cultural Center hosted a promotion for poet and prose writer Saladin Dino Burdžović, highlighting three of his poetry collections. More recently, Vojin Grubač presented ‘U pravcu slobode’ (In the Direction of Freedom) at the Stevan Samardžić National Library in Pljevlja, Montenegro, a work described as a political chronicle using satire to critique power structures. In Vršac, Serbia, Dragomir Vuksanović presented ‘BanaCki kabare’ at the City Library, a collection featuring aphorisms, fables, and poetry.
In Bosnia and Herzegovina, celebrations continued with poet Amar Ličina presenting his collection ‘Mjera stvari’ (The Measure of Things) during the first Book Fair held at the Musala Sports Hall in Tešanj. The work, published by Biblioteka Mostar, reflects the author's cultural ties to Bosnia and Herzegovina and his roots in Sandžak. Additionally, in Tuzla, Emir Bašić promoted ‘Od probe do pozornice’ (From Rehearsal to the Stage) at the International Portrait Gallery. This book serves as an experiential guide for folklore ensemble leaders, covering leadership, group dynamics, and stage preparation.
