President Pirc Musar has acknowledged she was not wearing a seatbelt during the accident and expressed regret. Meanwhile, the Public Agency of the Republic of Slovenia for Traffic Safety (AVP) stated it cannot evaluate driver conduct based on the video, as the footage lacks reliable data regarding vehicle speeds, specific movements, or driver reactions prior to the collision.

Following the incident, an expert oversight report commissioned by Acting Director General of Police Danijel Lorbek revealed significant management failures within the Koper Police Administration. The report cited a lack of leadership at all levels, noting that officers lacked professional assistance, no supervisor was present to provide expert guidance, and there were procedural deficiencies regarding documentation deadlines and notifying the prosecutor's office.
