Soledad de Graciano Sánchez municipal initiatives
Overview
In late July 2026 the municipality highlighted its civil‑registry network, noting high demand for certified birth certificates and free marriage services, including same‑sex unions. A few days later it opened three facilities for women affected by gender‑based violence, added a temporary shelter, and set a target of issuing up to 500 low‑income property titles by year‑end.
On 2 August the mayor inaugurated the Centro LIBRE, a dedicated centre offering psychological, social, legal and economic aid, and announced a forthcoming State Secretariat delegation. The same day the municipal guard, Protection Civil and other services responded to intense rain and strong winds, clearing debris and rescuing seven bus passengers on the Puente Naranja; officials described the outcome as a “white balance” because no injuries occurred.
On 5 August the municipality opened the new Centro Integral para la Capacitación y el Deporte in the San Francisco colonia. The 3,000 m² complex replaces an aging centre and provides classrooms, workshops, sports courts, a dance hall, green areas and free basic‑health clinics. At least 12 vocational programmes—ranging from beauty and tailoring to carpentry, metalwork, electricity, computing and dance—aim to boost employability, stimulate self‑employment and support local economic development.
