On August 13, a major wildfire broke out on Monte Goi in the Spina Verde regional park near Como. Fueled by strong winds, the fire sent large columns of ash and smoke toward the city center, forcing the evacuation of approximately 50 to 55 residents. While the fire was brought under control, small outbreaks regained strength on August 14. Local officials noted that unremoved timber from a 2023 storm may have contributed to the risk, and political representatives have called for strategic forest management plans. By August 16, wildfires intensified in the Friuli Venezia Giulia region. Flames advanced toward Monte Amarianute, forcing the evacuation of the Pissebus area near Tolmezzo.
