2026 WRC Rally de Paraguay

Overview

As the 2026 Rally de Paraguay approaches on August 27–30, final preparations are underway in the Itapúa department. Competition details remain centered on the 357.64 km stage distance, featuring high-speed and technical jungle segments on slippery red clay. M-Sport Ford will enter two Ford Puma Rally1 cars, driven by Josh McErlean and John Armstrong, with Armstrong making his South American debut.

The championship stakes are high as the WRC returns from its summer break. Toyota teammates Elfyn Evans and Sami Pajari continue their duel, with Evans holding a 30-point lead. Toyota GAZOO Racing WRT maintains the opportunity to mathematically secure the Manufacturers' Championship if they outscore Hyundai by a specific margin. Other key competitors include Sébastien Ogier, seeking to defend his inaugural Paraguay victory, and Hyundai drivers Thierry Neuville, Adrien Fourmaux, and Hayden Paddon.

Sustainability efforts continue with the event aiming to be the first WRC rally in Latin America to utilize domestic carbon credits managed by Capadeco.
