Anna Foglietta promotes directorial debut ‘Una storia’
Overview
Following its premiere in the Orizzonti section of the 83rd Venice International Film Festival, Anna Foglietta is conducting a series of public appearances to present her directorial debut, ‘Una storia’.
Scheduled events in late September 2026 included appearances at Cinemazero in Pordenone, Visionario in Udine, and Cinema Kappadue in Verona. The promotional tour continues with a screening at the Cine Teatro Rex in Giarre on October 16, 2026, followed by an appearance at the Nuovo Cineteatro Italia in Scicli on October 17. In Scicli, Foglietta will participate in a dialogue with Marianna Triberio and an audience Q&A session.
‘Una storia’, co-written with Tania Pedroni and Matteo Ferri, stars Alba Rohrwacher and Guido Caprino. The marital drama is structured in four chapters corresponding to the seasons, exploring the emotional fragility and shifting identities of a provincial couple, Erika and Mauro, after their daughter leaves for university. The narrative depicts a year of solitude as Erika, a supermarket cashier, struggles with a loss of purpose, while Mauro, an electrician, faces a personal crisis following job loss.
The film, which received support from Rai Cinema, the Italian Ministry of Culture, HT Film, Indigo Film, and Tenderstories, marks Foglietta’s transition from acting to directing, a move she described as a step toward “human and feminist growth.”
