To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Disney and Pixar film ‘Cars’, various commemorative events and products are being released globally. Global celebrations also include life-size Lightning McQueen and Mercedes safety car appearances at the Formula 1 Gran Premio D’Italia in Monza, automotive museum exhibits in the U.S., England, and Italy, and a Porsche ‘Sally Special’ vehicle tour in the U.S. Other activations include a NASCAR event at the Daytona 500, special Route 66 centennial screenings in Oklahoma, and a theatrical return in Mexico via Cinépolis and Cinemex on September 10, 2026. Pixar has also launched a YouTube retrospective series, ‘Cars: Route 66 Road Trip’, hosted by Jo Franco.
