Spectators watching the finals via the in-game interface can also receive two exclusive Stealth Model racing cars that are not available for purchase. On August 19, 2026, Polyphony Digital and Sony Interactive Entertainment released update 1.71 for Gran Turismo 7 on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4. This update introduced four new vehicles: the Hyundai IONIQ 6 N ‘25, the Caterham Seven Superlight R500 ‘08, the Toyota Chaser Tourer V ‘97, and the Toyota Mark II Tourer V ‘97. The patch implements major changes to the game’s core physics engine, affecting tire algorithms, suspension, steering geometry, torque control, and force feedback. As a precursor to the franchise’s 30th anniversary, Polyphony Digital has announced the Spec IV update, arriving in two phases. The update will introduce 12 new vehicles and two tracks through free releases in October and December 2026. Revealed vehicles include the BMW M5 E60, a Honda Mugen Motul Civic Si Race Car ’87, the Citroën 2CV Charleston, the Honda Stepwgn Spada, the Mazda RX-VISION GT3 EVO, and the Xiaomi Vision Gran Turismo.
