Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis stated that this cooperation serves as a foundation to deepen military and security ties with Arab nations in the Middle East, including Saudi Arabia and Egypt. The agreement mandates significant local industrial participation, with 19 Greek companies expected to undertake work valued at roughly 750 million euros, representing a share exceeding 25 percent of the project. The system is expected to be fully operational within 35 months.

While the United States has welcomed the cooperation, some European lawmakers have raised concerns that increasing reliance on Israeli defense technology could create a new dependency for the EU as it seeks to reduce its reliance on the United States. Following political scrutiny regarding technological sovereignty, the Israeli Ministry of Defense issued a clarification asserting that the source code developed under the agreement will remain under the “exclusive control of Greece.” This involves transferring Israeli expertise to Greek firms to develop central command-and-control software tailored to Greek requirements. However, PASOK leader Nikos Androulakis has demanded further clarity, questioning if Greece will face a state of dependency, noting potential discrepancies between government assurances and statements from Israeli officials regarding licensing.
