New developments reinforce this trajectory: an AI Development Center is slated for the Kura‑Kura Bali Special Economic Zone, partnered with Tsinghua University to make Bali a regional hub for AI research and learning. Islamic universities stressed aligning AI tools with Islamic values, while Education Minister Abdul Mu’ti emphasized that teachers remain essential and AI should support, not replace, critical thinking. These coordinated actions aim to equip a skilled workforce, narrow educational disparities and embed AI responsibly across Indonesia’s academic landscape.
