Shariat noted that certain injectable psychiatric drugs are nearly impossible to find, which may strain a healthcare system already facing a shortage of psychiatric beds. This economic pressure may also lead patients to delay medical visits, increasing risks of substance and alcohol abuse.
In consumer safety, the agency has issued immediate recall orders for FAT FAST tablets and Hemostasis powder. The FDA cited serious side effects and unauthorized therapeutic claims for FAT FAST, while Hemostasis powder, produced by Aria Teb Nik Seresht Toos, was recalled for lacking valid permits, authenticity labeling, and for the fraudulent use of another company’s name as its manufacturing site.
In the cosmetic sector, Behrouz Akbari, Deputy of the Cosmetic and Hygiene Products Directorate, noted the technical complexities of verifying halal status. Expanding on this, Mehdi Pirsalehi stated that the Halal concept now encompasses pharmaceuticals, medical equipment, dietary supplements, cosmetics, tourism, and healthcare services.
