By late August, reports indicated evolving patterns where travelers opted for shorter, more frequent visits. While water quality remained high despite drought conditions, some visitors reported dissatisfaction due to lower water levels and increased mosquito populations. MÁV Group CEO Zsolt Hegyi reported a 7 percent increase in train punctuality on the northern shore, attributed to new locomotive technologies and simplified schedules, services which are expected to continue into the autumn season.

July data from the KSH revealed mixed trends for the broader Hungarian tourism sector. While the total number of guests decreased by 0.4 percent compared to the previous year, overnight stays saw a slight increase of 0.3 percent. At Lake Balaton, domestic visitor numbers rose by 1.8 percent, though foreign visitor numbers fell by 5.2 percent. Despite these fluctuations, gross revenue for tourist accommodations rose by 5.8 percent to 148.1 billion forints.
